 2 CUPS OF COFFEE

3 May 2007

This is so true….

2 CUPS OF COFFEE

When things in your life seem almost too much to handle, when 24 hours in
a day are not enough, remember the mayonnaise jar and 2 cups of coffee.
A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front
of him. When the class began, wordlessly, he picked up a very large and
empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls.

He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was.

The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the
jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas
between the golf balls.

He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was.

The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of
course, the sand filled up everything else.

He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with a
unanimous "yes."

The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and
poured the entire contents into the jar, effectively filling the empty
space between the sand. The students laughed.

Now, said the professor, as the laughter subsided, I want you
to recognize that this jar represents your life. The golf balls are the
important things - God, family, children, health, friends, and favorite
passions -- things that if everything else was lost and only they
remained, your life would still be full.

The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, house, and
car.

The sand is everything else -- the small stuff.

If you put the sand into the jar first, he continued, there is no room
for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for life. If you spend
all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have room for
the things that are important to you.

So...
Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness.

Play With your children.
Take time to get medical checkups.
Take your partner out to dinner.
Play another 18. There will always be time to clean the house and fix the disposal. Take care of the golf balls first -- the things that really
matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand."

One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee
represented. The professor smiled.
I'm glad you asked. It just goes to show you that no matter how full
your life may seem, there's always room for a couple of cups of coffee with a
friend.

If all I'm remembered for is this post than God has used me well. Of course I'm passing it on from another source but isn't that how the Bible got written?

My latest plea to Dr. Phil

Today once again you have found another fine example of white American male morals. Does your staff seek out these degenerate males. That's all I seem to see on your show. Now I'm beginning to see your own dysfunctional behavior. Are you afraid of how you look compared to other white males. Are you so shallow as to how you would measure up to me. All I ask is that you make it possible for me to mend the misunderstandings that I'm sure are there between my daughter and I. Am I a perfect man of course not, but I'm not a scoundrel either and I wish to show her who I am.

This will never get to your eyes so I'm making a copy and sending to Oprah and posting it on my blogstream site. Maybe if I get others to voice why it is that your staff chooses to ignore my pleas for help you might choose to help me.

As it says I tire of all the bashing of males in my age group. Even the news is joining the bandwagon by bashing the actor for how he spoke to his daughter.
I ask all of you to please go to DrPhil.com and ask why he either ignores or bashes white american males. Mention that you read it hear on TruthSeeker's blog and why is it you will not help him regain some kind of relationship with his daughter. By doing this maybe it will show that we as a group here at blogstream can affect what goes on in the world. All I can do is ask and those of you who know me best I place my trust.  What does a kiss taste like

One day, a teacher had a taste test with her students. She picked a
little boy to do the first test.
She blindfolded him, put a Hershey kiss in his mouth and asked,
Do you know what it is?" "No, I don't," said the little boy.
Okay, I'll give you a clue. It's the thing your Daddy wants from
your Mommy before he goes to work."
Suddenly, a little girl at the back of the room yelled, "Spit it out!
It's a
piece of ......... YA get it so just smile and delete TS
